The Bridesmaids
Jarisa Johnson
Maid of Honor Jarisa and I met at Peter's Bar in 2004. She bartended and I ran the karaoke show. We became fast friends and have gotten very close over the years. Jarisa is kind of like the big sister I never had. She has pushed me to go outside of my comfort zone and I would not be who I am today without her love and support. She has always been my protector and definitely earned her nick-name of "the hepa-filter" shielding me from unworthy suitors all these years. Luckily, she approved of Scott from the start and now sometimes I think they like each other more than they like me. After asking my parents for their blessing before he proposed - Scott's next big hurdle was to ask Jarisa for her blessing. I don't know exactly how that went, but I am pretty sure she approved. :) Jarisa is an amazing friend and has been by my side through some of the hardest times as well as my best times. I don't know where I would be without her in my life and I am so lucky to be able to call her a friend. Lisa Kiefer Bridesmaid Lisa and I met 5 or so years ago while working at Saxon Lanes. Soon enough we had given each other the nickname of Pod because we are two peas in a pod. We always joke that we were meant to be sisters but God knew that our mothers wouldn't have been able to handle us together, so we had to be separated. We have had so many great times over the years filled with lots of laughter and fun. I was lucky enough to get to go along with Lisa on trips to Costa Rica and the West Indies, so many amazing memories and experiences shared. Lisa has been a sounding board and an awesome support system through all of life's challenges. She is very dear to my heart and I count myself blessed to have her in my life. Meagan Maanum
Bridesmaid Meagan and I met the summer before our Freshman year of high school at volleyball tryouts. Everyone else had teamed up for a drill and Meagan and I were the last two without a partner... I was a little afraid of her because she was so outgoing and goofy with these two tiny ponytails right on the top of her head. But, luckily I got to know her and she became my 'other half" through our high school journey... my bug. Our life paths have traveled in different directions through out the years, but we have always remained close. It always amazes me how we can pick up like months haven't passed. I always know I can count on Meagan for a loving and supportive ear... and she can always count on me for hair and makeup advice. :) Emily Gerbig Bridesmaid What can I even say about Emily Gerbig? Emily and I met while we were working together at Internet Broadcasting. I was the project manager and Emily was my designer. Our first interaction was a very high stress ad campaign and she made me cry! But, after that hurdle we became great friends. Emily has been one of my greatest supporters over the years, always the first one to show up at all of my "events" Emily is such an amazing person and friend... as well as a very talented photographer and designer. She has been a great help with projects for the wedding, designing our Save The Date cards as well as the invitations. I am very fortunate to have Emily as a friend and I cannot wait to have her by my side as we both start the next phase of our lives. Bryna Tally
Bridesmaid Bryna and I met in the bathroom of a bar in Minneapolis called Bunkers. I used to go there every week to see a band called The Combo and I had seen her around for awhile. I always thought she was so pretty and she always seemed to be having such a great time. So, I decided to tell her so! We ended up joining tables and have been friends ever since. Bryna has such a zest for life and I have had so many fun times with her. Bryna and I have a shared love of all things summer and we were the originators of the annual "Girls Weekend" in Crosslake. The trip to Crosslake is filled with so many memories of laughter and fun with Bryna. I am so lucky to have such an amazing friend in Bryna and I know that she will be there providing laughter and love for many years to come. Katrina Mayr
Bridesmaid Katrina and I met while attending the Aveda Institute a few years ago. We always joke that our friendship didn't get off to the best start. While I sat in the back of class shy and not talking to anyone, Katrina was always in the front of the class with her outgoing personality and warm nature - everyone loved her. Luckily, I ended up in a group going to lunch together and we got to know each other better. When I found out she loved karaoke I knew I had to invite her out to one of my shows and that sealed the deal. Katrina (and her hubby Brian) quickly became such an amazing support and I don't think I would have made it through my Aveda experience without her. We have been through a lot together in a few short years and I know she is a friend for life. Kate Carroll Personal Attendant I have known Kate for so many years, I am not even quite sure when we met! I am pretty sure we met at the Tradesman bar at my parent's karaoke show when I was about 18. We have gotten much closer over the past few years and I now count her as a very close friend. We have had so many fun times together and shared a lot of laughs. Besides being a great friend, Kate is also a very talented makeup artist and I cannot wait to have her there to make me look amazing on the wedding day! |
